Tallest minaret

The tallest minaret in the world is that of the Great Hassan II Mosque, Casablanca, Morocco, measuring 200 m (656 ft). The cost of construction of the mosque was 5 billion dirhams (£360 million US$513.5 million). 


Among minarets of earlier centuries the tallest is the Qutb Minar, south of New Delhi, India, built in 1194 to a height of 72.54 m (238 ft). The mosque can accommodate 25,000 worshipers in its prayer hall, which has a retractable roof and a further 80,000 outside.

The Merlion

In Japan, tall buildings do not have a fourth floor. Thinking why? Because they avoid the number four(shi) as it sounds the same as the word for death(shi).

Ōkunoshima, an island in Japan, is full of rabbits. You might be thinking how? Well, they were brought there during World War II to test the effects of poison gas.

In Japan, many girls go to the dentist to have their teeth purposefully unstraightened. Do you know why? Because Yaeba, or crooked teeth, are considered attractive in Japan. 

They have hotel rooms the size of 2 square meters long and 1.20 meters high and they are known as Capsule hotels.

75 % of Japan is mountainous, which forces 93.5 % of its population to live in the remaining 25 & of the land.

In Japan, it is considered rude to tear the wrapping paper off of a gift.

The country’s national symbol is Mt. Ararat.
But Mt. Ararat is actually located in Turkey.
